Panama Equipment is currently looking for efficient, safety minded, skilled Tower Technicians. This is for a full time, long term position in the Telecommunications industry (cell phone towers). Applicants should have hands on experience in the construction industry as well as reliable transportation to get to and from job sites/office. Person(s) with special skills such as anything within the telecom industry, concrete finishing, electrical, carpentry is especially in high demand. Required Skilled Technician Responsibilities:
Willingness to climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints
Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs and navigate construction site terrain
Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site construction
Identify utility lines
Operate vehicles and possibly equipment
Perform setup and cleanup tasks at a job site
Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew
Back-fill trenches and pits when necessary
Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew
Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles
Basic computer skills.
The ability to read and write in English; excellent communication skills.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and travel out of market when necessary.
Desirable Qualifications:
Relevant industry experience
Certifications: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, Climb and Rescue, CPR/First Aid, RF Safety, and Scaffold Safety.
Identify building process
Read and interpret drawings
Knowledge of building codes, environmental regulations, and safety requirements
High school diploma/GED preferred
2+ years’ construction industry experience preferred
Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
Comfort working in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
Antenna and Line Technician Levels 1-4

Summary – Tech 1 (entry level)
The role of an Antenna and Line Technician Level 1 (AL1) is to engage in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. The AL1 reports to his onsite foreman as well as the Project Manager.
Required to lift items in excess of 50 lbs
Always act in a safe manner following all safety standards
Show proficiency in telecom terminology
Perform all work per foreman’s instructions
Removal and parking of vehicles from warehouse; all loading of equip / material at warehouse and in vehicles
Demonstrate general understanding of overall site layout and associated equipment
Report any violations to the construction foreman
Perform daily and final site clean-up
Proper use of basic hand tools and power tools
Set up of tools and material on job site per direction of Foreman
Dig trenches for power, Telco and RF cable runs
Learn proper knots for loading and rigging and perform proper weather sealing techniques
Run RF cables to antennas and all necessary grounding on tower to antennas and RF lines
Assist in setting antennas per assigned azimuths and tilts
Paint all cabling and antennas per site specifications
Summary - Tech 2
The role of an Antenna and Line Technician Level 2 (AL2) is to engage in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. The AL2 reports to his onsite foreman as well as the Project Manager.
Able to perform all aspects of the AL1 position
Required to lift items in excess of 50lbs
Have a general understanding of basic troubleshooting issues
Removal and parking of vehicles; all loading of equip / material at warehouse and in vehicles
Possess active climbing certificates and assist AL4 in leading tower erection and RF / plumbing installation including all climbing
Be familiar with installing antennas and necessary cabling and grounding; be familiar with installing and connecting GPS antennas
Have basic knowledge of site /project scope of work
Have knowledge of standards /guidelines for installation by both company and client standards (patching, grounding, electrical)
Have ability to perform a minimum of 1 - 2 hours of unsupervised work following AL4 or AL3 direction
Assist in sweep / line testing; have proper knowledge of rigging / loading techniques; platform building; proper use of a capstans hoist / tagging
Identify safety hazards both in the air and on the ground
Cement pouring / cement work; electrical installation and testing
Anritsu certified (Sweep Testing)
Connectorize RF cables and connect to antennas (RF & connector certified)
Summary - Tech 3
The role of Antenna and Line Technician Level 3 (AL3) is to engage in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. The AL3 reports directly to the Antenna and Line Technician 4 (CT4) if part of a large crew and /or the Project Manager if running a small 2-3-man crew. When running a small crew, the AL3 determines scope daily using construction drawings, bid notes, and construction schedule developed by the planning department; selects materials and structural units and inspects them to ensure conformance with provisions of building code and local ordinance; ensures Actual hours do not exceed the Estimated hours; reports all Change Order needs to their PM. On occasion, the AL3 will also have direct communication with the client’s Construction Managers.

Perform cabinet installation
Be proficient in all site paperwork / turnover documentation
Make sure that all documents needed are uploaded to SharePoint daily or handed in to Project Coordinator
Complete close out package items and turn into COP team and PM daily
Be proficient in various cell site testing equipment
To have knowledge of standards /guidelines for installation by both company and client standards
Connect power and Telco from utility to cabinets
Perform all work per site drawings, permits and building codes
Run conduit in trenches for power, Telco and RF
Troubleshoot and repair site deficiencies (cabinet, lines, antennas, integrated equipment)
Perform antenna electrical tilt / RET programming
Summary Tech 4 (foreman)
The role of an Antenna and Line Technician Level 4 (AL4) is to coordinate and oversee activities of workers engaged in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. The AL4 reports directly to the Project Manager. The AL4 determines scope on a daily basis using construction drawings, bid notes, and construction schedule developed by the planning department; selects materials and structural units and inspects them to ensure conformance with provisions of building code and local ordinance; ensures Actual hours do not exceed the Estimated hours; reports all Change Order needs to their Manager. The AL4 will also have direct communication with the client’s Construction Managers.
Responsibilities
Able to perform all aspects of CT3 position
Required to lift in excess of 50lbs
Review site drawings to ensure there are necessary tools, supplies and crew to complete the site scope
Make sure that all documents needed are submitted daily or handed in to COP team
Maintain site documents folder including permits, safety information, and site drawings
Perform site walks with customer and provide pictures, Bill of Materials and site requirements related to scope
Complete close out package and turn in daily to COP team
Coordinate with the Project Manager on pre-planned site-specific issues such as utility and Telco routing, access issues, inventory verification, and permits
Check out necessary tools and inventory from warehouse prior to construction start. Responsible for proper use and security of checked out tools and that they are returned to warehouse clean and ready for reuse
Keep crew motivated and on task focused on safety and quality
Maintain site safety tote bags and their togetherness
Maintain professional attitude when working with client’s, Construction Manager' or MM‘
Provide feedback to management about safer and more efficient work practices that can be employed in the field
Keep job sites OSHA compliant
Accountability
Accountable to Foreman /Project Manager (PM) to ensure work is completed following all safety standards daily
Accountable to PM to accurately update and complete timecard daily
Accountable to PM/MD for adhering to Panama Equipment Policies and Procedures
Accountable to PM/MD is in ensuring CPR/FA, Climber safety, sweep testing, and OSHA certifications remain up to date.
Accountable to PM ensuring daily tailgate safety meetings with crews are conducted covering relevant topics for the work scheduled daily (if running a crew)
Accountable to PM/MD ensuring work is completed daily per drawings, bid notes, and construction schedule, meeting or exceeding Panama Equipment and customer quality standards
Accountable to PM/MD ensuring all projects meet or exceed estimated direct project hours daily
Accountable to PM ensuring daily tailgate safety meetings with crew are conducted covering relevant topics for the work scheduled daily (if running a crew)
Accountable to PM/MD ensuring work is completed daily per drawings, bid notes, and construction schedule, meeting or exceeding Panama Equipment and customer quality standards (if running a crew)
